Ashlyn - Sprague High School

I am having so much fun photographing the Class of 2009, and Ashlyn in no exception! She is another one of my senior models and her portraits turned out great. Fun Fact: Ashlyn is a triplet! Her brothers came in for their senior session yesterday, so you will be seeing them as well.

Sarah - Central High School

It's that time of year when I am busy photographing Senior Reps for the Class of 2009. Sarah is such a pleasure to be around. Her positive attitude and sunny smile is contagious!! Here are a couple of images from her session. Check out the one of Sarah in her softball uniform. She is an awesome pitcher for the Central High School softball team.

As an artist I (Miriam) feel down and frustrated with my work at times. The little voice inside starts to ask, “ Are you really any good?” “Do you really have a unique vision?”

It was at such a time that a friend sent me this quote.

There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening
That is translated through you into action,
And because there is only one of you in all time,
This expression is unique.

And if you block it,
It will never exist through any other medium
And be lost.
The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is:
Nor how valuable it is: nor how it compares with other expressions.
It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly,
To keep the channel open.

You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work.
You have to keep open and aware directly
To the urges that motivate you.

Keep the channel open.
No artist is ever pleased
There is no satisfaction whatever at any time.
There is only a queer, divine satisfaction,
A blessed unrest that keeps us marching
And makes us more alive than the others.
